Well this was shocking news to me. Despite mother nature's attempts to throw horned quadrupeds at my lovely car, I have survived. My vehicle is worse for the wear, but is currently being repaired. In the meantime, I'm re-instating my shelved writing. I burned myself out when I tried to keep up a schedule of seven chapters a week (silly me). Now, I'm determined to keep up a slow and steady pace, rather than a headstrong and suicidal one.
Darkly is now in its ninth chapter, and I fully intend to finish that by the end of the week. As some of you may have noticed, I have a shiny new poll at the top right of my page. Take a look, I'll wait.
...
Thanks for voting. As you may have read, my wonderful artist Xia and I wish to work together on a side project of some kind. This is mainly because I think a pretty picture thrown into my boring monotony would be nice. If you haven't followed the blog yet, I'd be eternally grateful to you for doing so. All this being said, it's good to be back--I'll keep ya posted!
P.S. You know what would be super-awesome? Views and clicks and all manner of solicitation on my ads. I'd very much like to make a paycheck based on my ramblings, and I hope I've made enough of an impression on some of you to warrant a click on my ad. There's a bubble below the post, and on the right sidebar. I've done my best to make it minimally intrusive--promise :).
P.P.S. I apologize if that sounded pushy. I don't judge you for not clicking the ad. Thanks for viewing my page anyway.
P.P.P.S. OK, maybe I judge you a little bit; but come on! I'm getting married on the very date that the poll expires (June 18th) and I'm gonna have a wife to support. Help a brother out! Follow, and click the ad if it is even remotely relevant.
To be honest, I'd want you to continue focusing solely on DARKLY. (Slow & Steady is DEFINITELY the course, by the way. Keep it up!) But I voted for the Comic Book for 2 reasons.
ReplyDelete1) This Xia chick sure knows how to draw! I want to see more.
2) Your comic could be my comic's best friend.
P.S.

I have no clue as to whether I'm breaking some sort of fourth wall here, but I feel like I should be allowed to comment--right?
ReplyDeleteWhile Darkly is very much my main project, I plan to do something on the side (very minor) for two reasons.
1. I thoroughly enjoy working with Xia, and if that means dedicating an hour or two a week to something awesome with her--then hooray.
2. Darkly is fun, and awesome. That being said, it's nice to have another outlet when I'm not feeling so. . .dark?
^^Punny..
We're on the same page. I'm currently working on what may turn out to be a bi-weekly online comic strip with another friend, outside of DUSK. The Comic Strip (if we go the distance with it) would ultimately be satirical comedy, with very little continuity (if any), similar to Calvin & Hobbes. So yeah... we're on the same page, buddy. :)
ReplyDeleteI voted for bread, but I agree with Adrian. Keep going on Darkly! <3
